eBRAM is honoured to have been invited by the Agency for Volunteer Service (“AVS”) to serve as a partner of the Hong Kong Volunteer Award Presentation Ceremony cum Forum 2025, providing real-time transcription and translation services to support inclusive participation through LawTech innovation.

The two-day event was held at the Jockey Club Auditorium of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and was officiated by Mrs Janet Lee, Wife of the Chief Executive, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China; Mr Clarence Leung Wang-Ching, BBS, JP, Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs; Mr Jackson Woo Ka Biu, Board of Stewards, The Hong Kong Jockey Club; and Ms Melissa Pang, BBS, MH, JP, Chairman of the Agency for Volunteer Service. Together, they witnessed and celebrated the achievements of outstanding volunteers and organisations.

Mr. Albert Leung FCIArb FHKIArb MIET MBCS CEng PMP®, Acting Chief Executive Officer of eBRAM, represented the Centre in receiving a Certificate of Appreciation from the AVS. We are also sincerely grateful to AVS for arranging an exhibition booth at the venue for eBRAM to showcase its dispute resolution services and LawTech solutions to the public.

The Hong Kong Volunteer Award 2025, themed “Innovation, New Era of Volunteering”, aims to encourage volunteers to integrate innovative ideas and technology into volunteer services, thereby expanding service scope and enhancing effectiveness and impact. This vision closely aligns with eBRAM’s continued efforts in advancing online mediation and technology-enabled dispute resolution in recent years.

Since 2024, eBRAM has been working closely with AVS to promote a range of pro bono online mediation initiatives, including the Pro-Bono Online Mediation Scheme for Water Seepage Disputes, which has been extended to 2026. The Scheme assists property owners and residents in resolving neighbourhood disputes arising from water seepage issues through professional and efficient mediation.

Building on this collaboration, eBRAM and AVS subsequently launched the one-year Tai Po Fire Pro Bono Dispute Resolution Scheme , offering free mediation services via eBRAM’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform to affected residents and stakeholders. The initiative aims to resolve disputes arising from the incident in a peaceful, professional and efficient manner, supporting community rebuilding and harmony.

eBRAM believes that by integrating LawTech with mediation services, an accessible, convenient and efficient Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform can be provided to both the public and volunteer mediators. Guided by the spirit of “Mediation First”, eBRAM remains committed to serving the community and contributing to Hong Kong’s role as a leading “City of Mediation.”
