eBRAM Participates in the 3rd Shanghai-Hong Kong- Shenzhen International Legal Forum and the 2nd Cross-border Commercial Mediation Competition

eBRAM was pleased to participate in the 3rd Shanghai-Hong Kong- Shenzhen International Legal Forum and the 2nd Cross-border Commercial Mediation Competition (第三屆滬深港國際法律服務大會暨第二屆“和·界”跨境商事調解大賽) in Shenzhen, joining legal professionals and industry representatives from Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macau to explore opportunities for cross-border legal services collaboration and dispute resolution innovation. 

During the conference, the Shanghai-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cross-border Legal Services Collaborative Development Initiative 《滬深港跨境法律服務協同發展倡議書》was officially launched, with eBRAM honoured to be one of the ten co-initiating organisations. The initiative promotes deeper cooperation in resource sharing, talent development and institutional innovation, further strengthening cross-jurisdictional legal services collaboration. 

Mr Ronald Sum, JP, Shares Insights on Digital Dispute Resolution 

At the roundtable forum on cross-border commercial dispute resolution, Mr Ronald Sum, JP, Vice Chairman of eBRAM, exchanged views with dispute resolution experts from Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia and Mainland China on emerging trends in mediation and arbitration. 

Mr Sum highlighted the importance of leveraging digital technologies to build stronger cross-border dispute resolution networks and emphasized the need for: 

• Greater cross-jurisdictional collaboration;
• Mutual recognition of professional standards; and
• Enhanced trust in dispute resolution outcomes.

He also introduced eBRAM's ongoing initiatives, including the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Online Dispute Resolution Collaboration Platform. The platform facilitates the exchange of ODR resources and promotes collaboration in commercial mediation throughout the GBA, further strengthening regional connectivity and cooperation. 

eBRAM Team Wins Championship 

As the finale of the event, the 2nd Cross-border Commercial Mediation Competition brought together teams from Shenzhen, Shanghai, Macau and Hong Kong to compete in a simulated cross-border commercial dispute. 

Led by eBRAM, the Hong Kong SAR Xiangjiang Mediation Team (香港特別行政區香江和議隊)  was awarded Champion for its outstanding performance in the mock case “AI Technology Development Contract Dispute (AI技術開發合同爭議) ” 

The competition provided a valuable platform for professional exchange and talent development, while promoting innovative mediation practices and advancing regional cooperation in cross-border dispute resolution.
