Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center Visits eBRAM

On 16 October 2023, a delegation from the Beijing Arbitration Commission / Beijing International Arbitration Center (BAC/BIAC) visited eBRAM International Online Dispute Resolution Centre (eBRAM) for an exchange on the development of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), opportunities for cross-border dispute resolution collaboration, and the digital transformation of dispute resolution services.
The delegation was led by Mr Wei Guo, Chairperson of BAC/BIAC, and included Dr Fuyong Chen, Deputy Secretary General of BAC/BIAC, Mr Haoliang Zhang, Division Chief of the International Case Management & Business Development Division, Mr Gerard Lin, Senior Knowledge Manager of the International Case Management & Business Development Division, and Ms Yiting Chen, Counsel of the International Case Management & Business Development Division. The delegation was received by Mr Albert Leung, Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer of eBRAM, together with members of the eBRAM team.
During the visit, eBRAM showcased its self-developed Online Dispute Resolution platform and shared its practical experience in online mediation, online arbitration, case management, and cross-border dispute resolution services. Representatives of BAC/BIAC also exchanged insights on the development of dispute resolution services in Mainland China and shared their experience in case administration and institutional development.
Both sides recognised that, with the growth of cross-border commerce and the continued advancement of the digital economy, dispute resolution services are rapidly evolving towards greater digitalisation and efficiency. Strengthening exchanges and cooperation between dispute resolution institutions can facilitate resource sharing, leverage complementary strengths, and enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of cross-border dispute resolution services for businesses and commercial parties.
The visit further strengthened mutual understanding between the two organisations and laid a solid foundation for future collaboration in areas including cross-border dispute resolution, online platform applications, and professional capacity building.
