eBRAM Supports Sports Dispute Resolution Workshop to Advance Hong Kong’s Sports ADR Development

eBRAM was honoured to co-organise the Sports Dispute Resolution Workshop alongside the Department of Justice, the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO-HKRAC), and the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC). The Workshop attracted over 120 representatives from the sports and legal sectors, including delegates from more than 30 sports organisations, to explore the effective use of mediation and arbitration in resolving sports disputes. The event was officiated by Dr Cheung Kwok-kwan, Deputy Secretary for Justice and Chairperson of the Advisory Committee on Sports Dispute Resolution; Mr Raistlin Lau, Under Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism; and Mr Kenneth Fok, Vice President of the SF&OC, who delivered welcome remarks.

As the technology provider of the Pilot Scheme on Sports Dispute Resolution, eBRAM is committed to delivering efficient, accessible, and technology-enabled dispute resolution services for the sports sector. In support of the Pilot Scheme, eBRAM successfully launched the Sports Dispute Resolution Online Platform in February 2026, providing end-to-end online mediation and arbitration services.

During the Workshop, Ronald Sum, JP, Vice Chairman of eBRAM; Council Member and Chairman of Sports Law Committee, The Law Society of Hong Kong; Panel of Arbitrator, Court of Arbitration for Sport (China, Hong Kong); Panel of Arbitrator, China Commission of Arbitration for Sport (China, Hong Kong), joined Professor Nick Chan, Director of AALCO-HKRAC, to introduce the mediation and arbitration framework under the Pilot Scheme. Mr. Sum also demonstrated the operation of eBRAM's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform, showcasing how LawTech supports streamlined case management, online mediation and arbitration, and the efficient resolution of sports disputes.

eBRAM remains committed to working closely with the Department of Justice, AALCO-HKRAC, and industry partners to promote the adoption of the "mediation first, arbitration next" approach through the integration of mediation, arbitration, and LawTech, further strengthening Hong Kong's position as an international centre for legal and dispute resolution services.
